Bee Cave Texas

Things to do in Bee Cave

Bee Cave Texas is a more affluent suburban community west of Austin in the Hill Country. With a golf course and gated communities, Bee Cave has become a desirable address. Still a small town, Bee Cave has grown from a few hundred twenty years ago to somewhat over 2,000 residents today. With stylish restaurants and other similar amenities, the town has attracted many upscale residents. The median household income for the town is near $125,000, providing a solid economic base for small businesses in the area, as well as support to real estate values. Most homes are owner-occupied and the average number of rentals is below the average for Texas as a whole.

Surrounding Bee Cave has a countryside that includes Lake Travis, a substantial impoundment with water activities for all, as well as the open hill country with a variety of other outdoor recreation. Known for the wildlife in the area, hunting and fishing are sports available within a short trip of the town.

The growth of the town includes the recently established Bee Cave Arts Foundation. They have started a number of activities including the Benches of Bee Cave, a program that has placed unique and vibrant benches throughout the quickly growing commercial areas of the town. Shops and boutiques are also in town to provide services to the residents.

The number of restaurants and other eating establishments has also grown with the population of the area. Among the more notable dining establishments is County Line Barbecue, a Texas tradition.

Bee Cave Real Estate

Although the community was established over a century ago, when there were still altercations with the indigenous Indian population, it has grown up over the last couple of decades with many homes that range from $200,000 to well upwards of $2 million. There are gated as well as golf course communities. Most of the Bee Cave homes are single-family, detached homes with only a limited number of multifamily units.

The foreclosure plague that has swept the country has not been as prevalent in this area. The entire Travis County, including Austin, has had a lower number of foreclosed homes available. Contact our team to view Bee Cave Real Estate.
